Russell Westbrook Out 4-6 Weeks

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook left the game last night against the Clippers with 6:35 left in the second quarter. Westbrook tried to continue playing but realized he couldn’t dribble the ball because of this injury. He went to the locker room where he was evaluated and got X-rays. The X-rays revealed that Westbrook had suffered a small fracture of the metacarpal in his right hand. This proved to be bad news for the Thunder for he will be out 4-6 weeks. The Thunder, are now without a star and have to rely on Sebastian Telfair and Perry Jones to lead the team. As Westbrook was going back to the locker room, he had to be restrained from a heckling fan yelling at him from above the tunnel. When Coach Scott Brooks was asked about all the injuries they’ve suffered so far, he stated, “It’s unfortunate the way it is right now, but we have to figure out how to get better from all of our experiences,” Brooks said. “Good teams and good players bounce back from adversity, and our guys understand that.”

  1. That sucks for westbrook because he’s a vital part to the Thunder and with him and Durant out they could be facing a little bit of a struggle for the first few weeks this season
